International Women’s Day Celebration 2026 – Walkathon (Nari in Saree)

Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management and Information Technology, organized a meaningful Extension Activity as a Social Contribution initiative on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026. The program was conducted in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals, Belapur, aiming to promote women’s health awareness, empowerment, and social well-being. The highlight of the celebration was a Walkathon organized under the theme “Nari in Saree”, symbolizing the strength, dignity, and cultural identity of women. The event was jointly organized by the WDC, Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), and ISR. The Walkathon witnessed active participation from women across the community, including students, faculty members, and women from nearby societies, who enthusiastically joined the initiative. Participants proudly embraced the theme by wearing sarees during the Walkathon, which beautifully represented the cultural heritage and elegance of Indian women. The primary objective of the event was to spread awareness about women’s health, equality, respect, and empowerment in society. In association with Apollo Hospitals, the activity also emphasized the importance of regular health awareness and a healthy lifestyle for women.Students of BVIMIT played a vital role as volunteers and organizers, managing various aspects of the event such as participant coordination, registration, event logistics, and awareness promotion. Their involvement reflected strong teamwork, leadership skills, and a sense of social responsibility. The event successfully created a positive impact within the community by encouraging participation in social initiatives that support women’s empowerment and well-being.
